Fabulously french toile de jouy

Posted by Picasa

Spent yesterday visiting Vide Greniers, which is not as fun as it sounds as the villages that they were in were very spread out and I think that we clocked up over 200kms. It is amazing how it adds up as to go to one village is 20kms and then to the next is another 20kms and so on and before you know it you have done 20kms.

It was a great day and I got some really nice things for the shop. I was especially pleased with some candelabras which were very cobwebby and did look like they had come out of someone's attic as these days the vide-greniers are a little commercial so you get people selling new items which look like they have come straight out of the supermarket.

I also met a lovely lady (Marie-Claire) who specialises in antique linen so I am planning on buying some and getting some things made for the shop.

Yesterday I bought the most fabulous pieces of Toile de Jouy fabric which would look great as cushions. As you can see from the photos, it is very pretty or as we say in French c'est trés joli.
